Charcoal and charcoal wash on paper (2026)
In heavy charcoal and dripping washes, this piece honors the unyielding strength of surviving the genocide. Inspired by a fractured classical statue, deep breaks trace the figure while a chaotic storm of dark scribbles swirls around it—capturing the rage of enduring unbearable pain and destruction inflicted from the outside. Yet, standing firm amidst the wreckage speaks a truth louder than the shatter: your continued existence makes you impossible to defeat.
